Application of AI for face-swapping images with the "Journey to the Moon with Octokit" microsite

As a pioneering company in new technology, Marvy Co. developed the "Journey to the Moon with Octokit" microsite, which utilizes AI face-swapping technology to allow users to create their own fun AI-generated photos..

Idea & Concept

The year 2024 witnessed an explosion in artificial intelligence, with one of the most prominent applications being face-swapping technology. This technology not only simply changes faces in images but also unlocks limitless creative possibilities, which major brands like Pepsi, Blanc 1664, and Zalo have utilized to create unique and impactful marketing campaigns. These campaigns, such as Zalo Avatar AI and the "Catch the AI Avatar Trend - Enjoy Big Prizes for Tet," have made a significant splash in the market.

As one of the pioneering companies in new technology, Marvy Co. programmed the "Journey to the Moon with Octokit" microsite, applying AI face-swapping technology so that users can create their own fun AI-generated photos.

UX UI & 2D Design

Designed with a mystical space theme, the microsite features the character Octokit as the central figure, guiding and interacting with users throughout their AI photo creation journey. With purple as the primary color, the entire design of the microsite embodies a youthful, approachable style while maintaining the unique identity of the Octokit brand.

The entire user experience on the microsite was crafted by Marvy's team based on their in-depth experience working with clients and real users. Pop-up notifications guide users throughout the experience, enhancing interaction between users and the microsite.

AI and microsite development

Marvy has programmed the "Journey to the Moon with Octokit" microsite, which integrates AI technology to swap the player's face with another face at the exact pixel level. The AI-generated images retain the distinct facial features of the player while maintaining high-quality, vibrant colors just like the original image.

The microsite is programmed with the following user flow.

  • The user checks the box to agree to the terms and clicks the "Play Now" button to start creating their photo.
  • The screen displays a gif of Octokit.
  • The user fills out a questionnaire to collect and store information.
  • The user uploads their photo in one of two ways:

     1. Take a photo on the microsite: With full instructions and the ability to capture and retake photos.

      2. Upload a photo from the player's device gallery

  • Once the photo is uploaded, the player will adjust the size and crop the image to ensure the AI captures the sharpest possible facial features.
  • After submitting the photo to the system, the microsite will check the image to accurately identify the player's facial pixels. If the image is valid, the player will receive their AI-generated image. If not, the microsite will display a message asking the player to upload a different photo.
  • Within one minute, the microsite will display the image with the player's face swapped.
  • Additionally, the player can share the image on platforms like Facebook and Zalo or download it to their phone.

Conclusion

The "Journey to the Moon with Octokit" microsite is a clear testament to the significant advancement of AI technology in marketing. By integrating face-swapping technology, an intuitive user interface design, and a seamless user experience, the project has created a product that is not only highly entertaining but also contributes to advancing brand communication trends in marketing.
